Welcome to the Arenavirus Sequence Database
Arenavirus sequence database contains 333 unique protein sequences of 7 pathogenic arenaviruses (Lassa, LCMV, Guanarito, Junin, Machupo, Sabia and Whitewater Arroyo) (Figure 1) that can be used for epitope discovery studies. Each sequence was annotated at the minimum for its isolated host, geographical region and passage history. This process was done via published publications and/or direct correspondence with the authors. Most sequences were derived from human infections, while the remaining samples all came from naturally infected reservoir rodents. Universally, each of the viruses sequenced prior to 2002 was propagated in Vero E6 or BHK cell lines prior to sequencing of the viral genome.
